KEYNOTE: "Introduction to the IOTA Foundation and the Tangle, the next generation distributed ledger / blockchain for the Internet of Things"
Wilfried Pimenta de Miranda is an entrepreneur, former management consultant and corporate strategy/M&A/business development professional. With a background from Cleantech and Oil & Gas, he’s been working internationally at the forefront of emerging technologies, helping incumbents and startups explore new business model innovation, expand internationally and get in position for the clean energy revolution. Wilfried has been collaborating with global champions from Europe such as EDF, Shell, Statkraft or Scatec and played a key role at Multiconsult in growing its renewables footprint, scaled its activity across industries and geographies and contributed to its successful IPO in May 2015. Today Wilfried is Business development manager for the IOTA Foundation behind the Tangle, the next generation distributed ledger / blockchain for the Internet of Things. He is also CEO at Alpha Venturi an Oslo-based strategic innovation and startup venture launchpad specialised in distributed ledger technologies and the Internet of Things. He is currently involved with some of the first commercial startups exploiting the IOTA tangle.
The IOTA Foundation gathers an elite of blockchain pioneers and senior thought leader advisors across industries (including Fintech, IoT and Energy) to develop and deploy new Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT). Most prominent is the “Tangle”, a revolutionary DLT designed for the Internet-of-Things (IoT) ecosystem and the emerging machine economy. The team led by David Sønstebø, an international blockchain pioneer from Norway, recognised in 2014 the limitations of traditional blockchains such as Bitcoin or Ethereum and designed from scratch a new shared ledger architecture to meet the challenge of securing and scaling micro-transactions in the IoT. IOTA has the potential to become a new international open standard for the IoT and we now work with a growing number of global corporations to explore proofs of concept and innovative business models across industries including smart city, energy, mobility, health and IoT.
Wilfried graduated from INSEAD with a Global Executive MBA in 2013 spent in France, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Back in 2001, he finalized an international double Msc engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France and NTNU, Norway.
